In this fun beginners workshop students will learn how to create stunning copper and bronze pendants and earrings without all the hassle of hammering, cutting and torching!

This is a great starting point for those who have been curious as to what all the excitement is about… No previous experience with metal clays or other jewelry making techniques is necessary. You will complete at least two pendants and two pair of earrings, ready to wear or gift to someone!

When you have completed this workshop you will be comfortable creating jewelry on your own and moving into more expensive fine silver or sterling pieces.

Covered will be techniques, textures, designing, bales, finishing, firing, and findings. Precious metal clays are a clay-like medium used to make jewelry and other things. It consists of very small particles of precious metals (such as silver, gold, copper or bronze) mixed with an organic binder and water. Metal clay can be shaped just like any soft clay, by hand or using molds. After drying, it can be fired in a variety of ways including in a kiln. The binder burns away, leaving the beautifully detailed metal that students may patina to create a contrast in the design.
