Painting on aluminum? Yes, it’s a little different…painting on metal panels, usually copper, has been historically recorded since before Rembrandt. More recently artists have been experimenting with aluminum composite panels – lighter and stronger construction. Alumacorp panels are 100% archival and acid free, and will not mold or mildew.

Here is an opportunity to experiment with oil paint on this interesting surface, which can be used primed, or unprimed. The exposed area will not tarnish due to its resistance to oxidation, so, you can leave an exposed edge, giving a beautiful, shimmery border; or you can paint directly on the surface, allowing aluminum to peek through. Either way, it’s fun to explore new ways to present and perk up your paintings.

We welcome all levels. Materials provided , including some reference photos.
