For ALL Levels, beginner and up. Everyone succeeds in this class!! Great for those learning drawing, and those who want to capture realistic images of people, animals and still life. Learn basic techniques while creating a dramatic piece of artwork from references furnished by the teacher.  Create a variety of textures with the focus on lights and darks.

Scratchboard is a fine art medium in which the artist scrapes off a black top layer to reveal a white layer underneath.  Unlike most techniques, in which the artist adds mid-tones and shadows, when using scratchboard, the artist works by exposing highlights.  This yields highly detailed, precise and textured art work.

Students already familiar with working in scratchboard may bring their own reference or chose from some the instructor has that challenge them more than the beginner references.  Move to the next level in creating artwork that is striking and grabs attention.
