The inclement weather date for this class is JAN 31st. Please ensure you are able to attend, in the event that the original date is postponed due to winter weather conditions. We go by the Asheville and Buncombe county school closures. However for late starts we use their start times, and for our afternoon classes often the roads are fine by late morning, and class will be held.

Learn multiple watercolor techniques including negative painting to achieve deep colors, depth, and layering!  First, Heather will explain what the heck negative and positive space even is.  Then, students will create fun, layered botanical paintings using the techniques shown in class!

This class seats 8 students

Heather Clements is a watercolorist, interactive art-maker, and mixed media artist specializing in portraiture and botanicals, as well as creating many murals (including the two largest murals in Bay County, Florida).  An award-winning working artist who has been featured in galleries from California to Massachusetts, Heather is now teaching several specialized subjects at 310 Art.

STUDENTS WILL NED TO BRING:

  • 2 - 3 sheets of watercolor paper (must be WATERCOLOR paper) at least 9x12.

  • Watercolor paints

  • Brushes

OPTIONS SUPPLIES (EXTRAS WILL BE AVAILABLE):

  • Painter’s tape

  • Container for water

  • Rags

  • References (leaves, flowers, other similar sized objects.)
