This little workshop is the perfect way to brush up on all your painting skills and complete a lovely little winter scene in oil or acrylic or pastel.

We will cover the basics, starting with a strong design, creating an underpainting, building layers to achieve a sense of luminosity.  A focus will be understanding the correct palette to use to create a beautiful winter scene, to feel that sense of chill in the air.

Materials will be provided if you are working in oil or pastel, but if you are working in acrylic, you will need to provide your own paint and brushes.

If you have your own winter photographs, I encourage you to work from those.  I will, however, bring  a number of scenes to work from.  I will also bring some small (5”x7”) canvases for little studies in preparation for a larger canvas, but you certainly can use those to just do create several mini paintings, which is always fun!

This class seats 8 students.
