Back by popular demand, Kevin’s signature Large Scale Abstract Acrylics workshop returns as an immersive two-day experience.
If you’ve ever wanted the time and freedom to create a truly dynamic large-scale painting, this workshop is for you. Over two afternoons, you’ll explore expressive abstract techniques while working on a 30” × 40” canvas—using oversized tools, bold mark-making, rich textures, and layered color to create a finished work you’ll be proud to take home.
Working with acrylic paint, texture paste, palette knives, scrapers, squeegees, wetting mediums, markers, and brushes, you’ll discover Kevin’s intuitive approach to balancing abstraction with recognizable elements inspired by nature. Bring a favorite landscape, floral, or nature photo as inspiration, or work from reference images provided in class.
Throughout the weekend, Kevin will guide you through:
Building strong abstract compositions
Creating expressive texture and movement
Incorporating botanical, landscape, and natural forms
Using markers and mixed-media techniques to add energy and depth
Developing confidence in working at a larger scale
Whether you’re new to abstract painting or you’ve already taken Kevin’s one-day workshop, this extended format offers the extra time to experiment, refine your ideas, and push your creative process further. You’ll leave with new techniques, greater confidence, and a completed large-scale painting.
