That’s right, YOU can enjoy painting flowers with freedom and confidence! In this three-hour workshop, students will create lively floral paintings using watercolor washes and expressive black ink. Rather than focusing on botanical accuracy, we'll explore simple shapes, vibrant color, and energetic lines that capture the spirit of flowers.

 Students will learn how to: 

• Simplify flowers into easy-to-paint shapes 

• Add expressive black ink lines for character and movement 

• Balance loose color with bold mark-making 

• Develop a playful, personal style! 

This workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike who would like to loosen up, experiment, and have fun with watercolor and ink. Expect a relaxed atmosphere, colorful blooms, and plenty of creative exploration in this fun and free-flowing workshop!

Originally a medical illustrator, Miriam Hughes works in gouache, watercolors, pens, collage and fibers and makes time to create art daily. She exhibits widely and teaches art in a number of topics.
