COLD WAX OIL PAINTING - ARTIST'S RETREAT with Mark Witzling, SEPT 17th and 18th 2026
Thursday, September 17th and Friday 18th - 10AM to 4PM both days - $350 - See below for required supplies
This 2 day painting event is a retreat style workshop for intermediate students who have experience painting with oil and cold wax medium.
This smaller class will allow ample time for discussion between participants on topics related to oil and cold wax painting in an environment of sharing, collaboration and learning. Included in the retreat format will be creation of a collaborative group painting reflecting the hand of all of the artists. Each artist will focus on painting on the substrate(s) of their choosing and may choose to work on new pieces, or works in progress.
Guided conversations throughout the two days will cover topics including comparison of substrates (oil paper vs panel vs canvas), painting at scale (large vs small), approaches to composition decisions, and additional topics generated by the group. The goal is a lively and informative discussion in a supportive environment. And lots of painting!
This class seats 6 students. For any questions regarding our cancellation or transfer policy, please refer to the link in our navigation bar.
